Sodium lauryl sulfate is a stable product, but it has one weakness: moisture. Store it correctly and it performs for years; store it humid and the bags turn to blocks.
Warehouse guidelines:
- Cool, dry and ventilated — avoid damp floors and exterior walls that condense.
- Sealed original packaging — reclose opened bags tightly; the PE liner is your main moisture barrier.
- Off the floor — keep bags on pallets.
- Away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- FIFO rotation — use oldest stock first and record lot numbers against your production batches for traceability.
Handling note: SLS powder is a fine dust that irritates airways. Use local extraction and basic PPE (dust mask, goggles, gloves) when charging powder; needle grades largely eliminate the dust issue at the source.
